Die Automobilindustrie feiert auf der IAA in München eine teure, individuelle, scheinbar grenzenlose und umweltfreundliche Mobilität. Gleichzeitig wird die Mobilität von Migrant*innen und nach Europa flüchtenden Personen massiv eingeschränkt und auf Haft, Abschiebung und Polizeigewalt gesetzt.
Die aktuelle Bundesregierung hat auf europäischer Ebene erheblich zum Zustandekommen einer Einigung zu einer höchst umstrittenen Reform des europäischen Asylsystems beigetragen. Diese sieht Asylverfahren an den Außengrenzen der EU unter Haftbedingungen vor. Auch werden Abkommen zur Abwehr von Migration mit Drittstaaten wie etwa Tunesien, Libyen und Türkei– wo Geflüchtete schwerste Menschenrechtsverletzungen erleiden – geschlossen.
Doch die Pläne des SPD-geführten Innenministeriums sehen nicht nur Verschärfungen des europäischen Grenzregimes vor, sondern der neueste Diskussionsentwurf aus dem Hause Faeser enthält die Ausweitung von Abschiebehaft, mehr Kompetenzen für die Cops bei Abschiebungen und weitere Möglichkeiten zur Kriminalisierung von Schutzsuchenden.
Was hat das mit der IAA zu tun? Über wessen Mobilität wird gesprochen?
Gründe für Flucht sind vielfältig, aber der menschengemachte Klimawandel, der in wesentlichen Teilen auch von der Automobilindustrie mitzuverantworten ist, ist ein immer stärker werdender Faktor für Migration und Flucht. Auch ein Umstieg auf eine individulle Elektromobilität ändert an dieser Entwicklung nichts – die Lebensgrundlagen vieler Menschen werden durch Raubbau an Rohstoffen und gewalttätigen Konflikten um diese Ressourcen zerstört und die Betroffenen haben häufig keine andere Wahl als zu fliehen.
Während die auf Exklusion beruhende Automesse im schicken München die Vision des Individualverkehrs mit Elektroautos bewirbt, werden Menschen auf der Flucht in Ihrer Bewegungsfreiheit immer weiter eingeschränkt und auf gefährlichere und häufig tödliche Routen gezwungen.
Wir brauchen keine IAA Mobility.
Wir wollen Bewegungsfreiheit für alle Menschen. Dazu gehört das Recht zu gehen und das Recht zu bleiben – die weitere Zerstörung der Lebensgrundlagen von Menschen durch einen scheinbar grünen Kapitalismus, dem hohen Ressourcenverbrauch bei der Herstellung von Autos, die Kriminalisierung von Flucht und die weitere Abschottung Europas müssen aufhören.
Wir wollen Mobilität für alle Menschen – gegen Abschiebungen, Haftlager an den Außengrenzen und alle Abschiebknäste. Weg mit der GEAS-Reform (Gemeinsame Europäische Asylsystem) und der Gesetzesinitiative aus dem Innenministerium!

At the IAA in Munich, the automotive industry celebrates expensive, individual, seemingly limitless and environmentally friendly mobility. At the same time, the mobility of migrants and people fleeing to Europe is massively restricted and relies on detention, deportation and police violence.
At the European level, the current German government has contributed significantly to reaching an agreement on a highly controversial reform of the European asylum system. This includes asylum procedures at the EU’s external borders under detention conditions. Agreements to avert migration are also being concluded with third countries such as Tunisia, Libya and Turkey-where refugees suffer the most serious human rights violations.
But the SPD-led Interior Ministry’s plans not only include tightening the European border regime, but the latest discussion draft from Faeser includes expanding detention pending deportation, more powers for cops during deportations, and more ways to criminalize those seeking protection.
What does this have to do with the IAA? Whose mobility is being talked about?
There are many reasons for fleeing, but man-made climate change, for which the automotive industry is largely responsible, is an increasingly important factor in migration and flight. Even a switch to individual electric mobility will not change this development – the livelihoods of many people are being destroyed by overexploitation of raw materials and violent conflicts over these resources, and those affected often have no choice but to flee.
While the exclusion-based car show in posh Munich promotes the vision of individual transport with electric cars, people on the run are increasingly restricted in their freedom of movement and forced onto more dangerous and often deadly routes.
We don’t need an IAA Mobility.
We want freedom of movement for all people. This includes the right to go and the right to stay – the further destruction of people’s livelihoods by a seemingly green capitalism, the high consumption of resources in the production of cars, the criminalization of flight and the further isolation of Europe must stop.
We want mobility for all people – against deportations, detention camps at the external borders and all deportation prisons. Away with the GEAS reform (Common European Asylum System) and the legislative initiative from the Ministry of the Interior!
